Dublin Port needed to construct a Road Bridge from the Port across the Tolka Road and onto their site, this site is used to store new cars and other vehicles. The total span of this bridge was x120metres and weighed 210 tonnes and was constructed in x5no sections that were fabricated at Woodburn Engineering’s works in Carrickfergus. Extreme accuracy was required in the production of the joints in order to enable assembly of the final fabricated sections. The erection sequence was completed during a series of night time road closures and included the lifting of sections into position onto bearings supplied by Woodburn. Construction commenced in August 2013 and was complete for Jan 2014.
